🌊 First, the hypnotherapy bit
Solution focused Hypnotherapy focuses on the things that you want to get right in your life, not what’s already gone wrong because I understand that we simply can’t change the past, and that we need to know where we’re going in order to find our way.
I supply special hypnosis recordings in advance of our session together, to prime the subconscious. I then provide a second hypnotherapy recording after your session, to assist with integration of the insights and breakthroughs you may experience during the CCB practice, and both of these recordings are yours to keep. They have been supportive to many clients for months, if not years after their sessions with me have ended. I’ll often employ hypnotherapy during the session as well, where we both feel it would be supportive.
🌊 Now for the breathwork bit
Conscious Connected Breath, or CCB, accesses the same rich place within us as hypnotherapy, the subconscious, but through a different gateway, that of the body, in a powerful but pleasurable, safe and gentle way.
Together, hypnotherapy and breathwork (CCB) create a transformative healing synergy within mind and body which leads to lasting change.
The BreathTrance model uses hypnotherapy before, during, and after each session to promote integration and allow insights and means of change to take root. The session itself is generally a full guided CCB experience supported by integration and take-home techniques to assist insights and ideas in taking root.
🌊 How Hypnotherapy and CCB Work with the Subconscious Mind
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic technique that guides individuals into a trance-like state of focused attention and heightened suggestibility. In this state, the conscious mind takes a step back, allowing the subconscious mind to become more receptive to positive suggestions, reframing, and healing. Hypnotherapy works by bypassing the critical conscious mind and directly communicating with the subconscious, where deep-seated beliefs, memories, and emotions are stored.
CCB, on the other hand, induces an altered state of consciousness through rhythmic, continuous breathing. This state is not a trance but a heightened awareness that allows the mind to explore deeper layers of thought, emotion, and memory.
🌊 Shared Mechanisms: How Both Practices Access the Subconscious
State of Consciousness
Access to Subconscious
Emotional Release
Neurochemical Changes
| Mechanism | Hypnotherapy | Conscious Connected Breathwork |
|---|---|---|
| State of Consciousness | Trance state (focused attention) | Altered state (heightened awareness) |
| Access to Subconscious | Direct communication via suggestion | Indirect exploration via breath and body |
| Emotional Release | Guided imagery and suggestion | Spontaneous release through breath |
| Neurochemical Changes | Relaxation response (parasympathetic) | Increased oxygenation and endorphins |
🌊 How Hypnotherapy and Conscious Connected Breathwork enhance each other:
Preparing the Mind for CCB with hypnotherapy
The pre-session hypnotherapy allows your subconscious to enter the session more open to suggestion and change.
Deepening integration with hypnotherapy after CCB
Hypnotherapy is used again after our CCB session to take advantage of the spaciousness created by breathwork, where mental clutter is cleared away, so allowing insights and ideas to take deeper root.
Trauma Release and Integration
CCB is highly effective for spontaneous trauma release, allowing suppressed emotions to surface in a safe, controlled way. Hypnotherapy can then help integrate and reframe these experiences, turning them into sources of strength rather than pain.
Enhancing Spiritual and Intuitive Growth
Both practices open doors to the subconscious, but CCB is particularly effective for spiritual exploration and intuitive development. Hypnotherapy can then help ground and apply these insights in daily life.
Stress and Anxiety Management
CCB provides immediate relief from stress by activating the parasympathetic nervous system. Hypnotherapy offers more long-term tools for managing anxiety, such as the supplied recordings which are yours to keep.
